The (old?) code from OpenBSD even exists in NetBSD driver, just
disabled (#if 0) and likely hasn't been fully ported.

Probably, adding basic support to at least attach drives should not be
massive work for those who would want to undertake the effort.
I likely won't have the time myself, and as with my "skils" it would
take me much longer, thus suggested for David to ask in the group.
