Yes, indeed, that was the recommended sequence; I've been using
sysutils/sysupgrade for ages, obviously it installs the kernel and the
userland at the same time. Anyway, such situations are rare and are
not that hard to resolve. The easiest would be to boot the new kernel
and then go through the sysupgrade sequence. But then wouldn't be
there a chance that the old userland disagrees with the new kernel?
