Seems strange that it could depend on that.
The i82810e machine is driving a CRT display at 1600x1200x16
The i82G41 machine is driving a 1280x1024 LCD panel via DVI.
The i82Q45 machine is driving a CRT display capable of 1600x1200, but
can't seem to set any mode other than 1024x768.
The other i915drmkms and radeondrmkms machines are driving a 1024x768
LCD panel via VGA.
The one nouveau machine I've been able to test is driving a 1920x1200 LCD
panel via DVI.
