   I'm feeling rather daft, but I'm pretty sure I set everything that
needs to be set, and I still see no debug output in dmesg. Note that
I don't have any devices connected to the USB3 ports, so there shouldn't
be anything related to that.

   See the dmesg below. Again, I built the kernel with options
USB_DEBUG/XHCI_DEBUG in GENERIC.local, tweaked boot.cfg to add -d,
and did a "write usbdebug 21" "write xhcidebug 21" "continue" in ddb.
With -current I had to give it 11 keystrokes total to get it through
the boot process. (See "paused" in the text. I think I got the
locations right, but my notes aren't ideal.)
