tstile hang [was Re: lilypond building hangs]

I tried cleaning the lilypond work directory manually, but got a
tstile hang.
# cd /usr/pkgsrc/print/lilypond/
# make clean

(that's ctrl-t 5 times, then a few tries at ctrl-c and one at ctrl-z
-- neither of the last two worked.)
