I don't think any imake is used to make Xorg. The xmkmf/imake build system has been mostly stripped out and definitely not maintained in Xorg for a few years now. There has even been discussion about removing imake tool
from Xorg.

aha. in which case, making effort to make pkgsrc detect base-installed imake is wasted energy.


(But that doesn't solve your real problem. Hopefully the other reply about
updating pkgsrc helps you.)


It did. I think I still *had* to have X11BASE but I could be wrong. anyway, I'm much happier it works for the simple stuff like wm/tvtwm anyway.
