   Same here, but I want to turn that off. I find it is far too easy to
trigger accidentally. I was hoping the synaptics controls would allow
for selecting tapping and scrolling behavior.

Have a look at 'sysctl hw.synaptics', there are a bunch of knobs there that might do what you want.
