Problems with xf86-video-ati

Hello.


Recently I've installed an ATI Radeon R200 QL [Radeon 8500 LE] and
throw away the NVidia (useless closed crap).

I've updated the package (and PR'd the update), to jan-6-2009, that is
the 6.10.0 release. According to the announce, it solves lots of bugs,
but the issues I see are the same.

· Defined in xorg.conf are the resolutions 1024x768, 800x600 and
640x480, but X starts with a large resolution (1200x960).

· CTRL-+ and CTRL-- doesn't change between resolutions.

· The console, after going out from X, looks very dark, the letters
almost can't be seen.

· Rest of apps in X can switch resolutions without problem (except
tuxracer that left me with an X of 640x480, I had to restart X).

DRI works pretty fine (and enjoying wine with my favorite games).
