rpc.statd dumps core, but continues

Since upgrading our NFS server from -6 to -8, repeatedly dumpd core, but
seems (according to ps -u) to continue to run.

The gdb backtrace is:

Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

(gdb) bt
#0 0x000000017e402698 in sm_notify_1_svc ()

#5 0x000000017e4029fe in main ()

Interestingly, two of the three core files I got so far are the exact same
time (04:36) on different days.
