Not fully. It might help for a specific live image, but doesn't solve all
the problems with hot-plug devices that have an unknown name. Configuring
the disk device names is one major task of sysinst that is missing when
you use a live image.

Wedges on the other hand already fix that problem. You can create
a an installation, live image or not, that will always find the correct
device.
