On a related topic, it would be kind of nice if the distfiles were 
downloaded by the unprivileged user instead of root. I keep meaning to 
create an issue on github, but I'm lazy.

I have a central collection of distfiles on an NFS server and it took me 
quite a while to work out why I couldn't do some package builds.
