FETCH_USING=fetch in the guide?

I think adding a blurb about this to the guide would be a good idea--a
lot of people encounter the "circular dependencies" issue, and, well,
fetch has no dependencies.

Is there  elegant way to default to this in such cases without
undermining other functionality?
