Without having access to pkgsrc source, which wouldn't help anyways
since you'd need the same pkgsrc used at time of binary package
creation.

If not, any ideas on how we could flag this? Maybe record the default
options also, like:
_BUILD_DEFS+=   PKG_SUGGESTED_OPTIONS

Why not PKG_OPTIONS satisfy your request?
