I noticed this problem too (http://mail-index.netbsd.org/tech-pkg/ 
2005/08/08/0019.html).
This is really a problem with the t1lib update, as all programs using  
t1lib do not work properly (xdvi, xgliph).

Unfortunately, i still haven't found any solution to this problem.
