EINTR is very special.

int xclose (int fd)
{
        int ret;
        do {
                ret = close (fd);
        }while (ret == -1 && errno == EINTR);

        return ret;
}

void xclose_err (int fd)
{
        if (close (fd) == -1){
                perror ("close failed");
                exit (1);
        }
}
