Any
recomendations? Or is Xen really more suited for server type stuff?

I admit I never tried to run X on a Xen system, all my systems have serial
console.

My main development machine runs Xfree86 on Xen 3/NetBSD 3.1 with 3.1, 4.0 and 5.0 domUs which have their DISPLAYs set to xen:0. i It works extremely well for me (I occasionally use Xnest too when I want a wm running on the domU.
