I dimly remember a thread about uhci not working very well no non-x86
machines.
Yesterday I put VIA uhci/ehci board into my O2, connected to a USB
harddisk. After torturing it for about 5 minutes with bonnie++ uhci
complained about a DMA error and detached both umass and sd.
Is this a known problem? I had an ex in there before which worked
perfectly fine.

I couldn't get a VIA uhci/ehci board to work reliably on sparc64 when I
tried a couple of months ago. I guess it is a DMA coherency issue.

Is this a hardware issue or some missing busdma_*() goo?

You could try the "itohy-usb1" branch. I think it's supposed to fix
such issues. I don't know what the current state of the code is, though.

Probably bitrotted but I'll have a look.

have fun
Michael
