Good points.  How about:
   * Network devices
      * Networking performance is important, but protocols may vary
      * UI options: web/net-based for some uses, CLI for others
      * SNMP monitoring, and perhaps configuration
      * These can range from home wireless base station / cable modem to
        large routers--obviously needs will vary.
