David,

You will be happy to learn that you are mistaken. 5.0 will in fact ship
with the lii(4) driver.

$ uname -sr
NetBSD 5.0_BETA
$ man -k lii
lii (4) - Attansic/Atheros L2 Fast-Ethernet device driver
$ cd /usr/src/sys/dev/pci
$ cvs status if_lii.c
===================================================================
File: if_lii.c          Status: Up-to-date

   Working revision:    1.5
   Repository revision: 1.5     /cvsroot/src/sys/dev/pci/if_lii.c,v
   Sticky Tag:          netbsd-5 (branch: 1.5.4)
   Sticky Date:         (none)
   Sticky Options:      (none)

Soren

Aha, I got myself garbled up. I conflated age(4), which goes by
"Attansic L1 10/100/Gigabit Ethernet device", with lii(4), the
"Attansic/Atheros L2 Fast-Ethernet device driver". Sorry for the
confusion.

Cheers,

Dave
