Long ago, netstat was almost always broken if you had a new kernel with
old userland. For the past several years, it has been fine (probably
since it changed from kmem grovelling to using sysctl). I'd be sad if
it started being broken regularly again, but being broken once as an
exception is not too bad.

Right now I have a 5.99.7 kernel (sources from 2009-01-19 00:00 UTC) and
an old userland (4.99.something), and netstat appears to work, but I
haven't tried all possible command line options.
