  I don't believe it does:  when you define USE_AMD64_IOPL, the server 
code will attempt to use amd64_iopl(), which I could not find anywhere in 
our tree.

  My workaround was to modify your change in 
src/external/mit/xorg/server/xorg-server/hw/xfree86/xorgos/Makefile rev 
1.6 to define USE_I386_IOPL, and I was able to build an amd64 version of 
the X server [seems to be working fine - thanks for all the work you've 
been putting in on this].
