Power management probably not, but environmental sensors definitively: (some) drive enclosures, or disk controllers, have sensors to see if a drive

I see no reasons to not extend this to what a RAID controllers can report.

Perhaps thorpej confused pmf(9) with the per drive sensors that I added
in the same commit.

pmf(9) is used in the driver to replace the old shutdown hooks.

I'm not confusing anything.

I'm OBJECTING to using envsys (which is for environmental monitoring / sensors) and powerd (which is for acting on power management events [possibly triggered by environmental sensor input, e.g. CPU getting too hot]) for monitoring RAID status.
