I'd say either strip non-absolute pathnames or revert this change and 
complain. Only this time, mention the "exptert" mode that disables the 
check. :-)

Remember, we gained this behavior in response to someone's build dying due 
to the code trying to execute an "mv" binary which was for the wrong 
architecture.
