localhost is the hostname for the IPv4 and IPv6 address assigned to the 
loopback interface. Thus if you are lacking INET and INET6, there is no 
way to access "localhost". :-)

The loopback interface, however, is still addressable via other protocol 
families. Obviously only address families that use it will be able to, but 
that's kinda the point.
