So the man page ipip(4) example is incorrect?

        Interface TunnelX
         ip unnumbered D   ! e.g. address from Ethernet interface
         tunnel source D   ! e.g. address from Ethernet interface
         tunnel destination A

Else, how do you make gif(4) talk to a tunnel configured like this?
