        for sendmail, this is just matter of how we write /etc/mail/sendmail.cf
        so it should be okay.  there can be some other binaries that can
        break (hardcode /etc/mail/aliases), however.

        how does postfix handle/create /etc/aliases.db?  is postfix compatible
        with sendmail?
