Currently we are doing approximately what other ping implementations are doing:

ping -s 1 localhost

PING localhost ( 1(29) bytes of data.
9 bytes from localhost ( icmp_seq=1 ttl=64

PING localhost ( 1 data bytes
9 bytes from icmp_seq=0 ttl=64

PING localhost ( 1 data bytes
[no response]

PING localhost ( 1 data bytes
8 bytes from icmp_seq=0 ttl=255

We can change it anyway we want...
