Packages problems with NetBSD 10.1

Hi,

I have a mac mini (powerPC) running a small number of duties, and it started giving me trouble today. i’ve been unable to use pkgin to upgrade and update the packages on this machine ever since I upgraded it to NetBSD 10.

As of today, my apache server doesn’t work, and a bunch of packages complain of missing libraries. I did not explicitly remove any libraries, but I did do a pkgin update and pkgin upgrade. The apache server idid its midnight restart and hasn’t worked since.

I poked around on the web and found suggestions to re-install the base files, which I tried. Unfortunately, the base files (for NetBSD 10.1) do not contain the libraries that the packages are demanding. I am now downloading 10.0, in hopes that I can find the files I need there.

My main machine is NetBSD 9.x and its package collections appear to have great support. Stuff breaks rarely and when it does, stuff gets fixed quickly. I don’t get that feeling on PowerPC.

My missing libraries are:

/usr/lib/libarchive.so.5, needed by pkg_install-20250417 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libasn1.so.6, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libblocklist.so.0, needed by stunnel-5.73 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libcom_err.so.4, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so.15, needed by apache-2.4.65 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so.3, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libcrypto.so.3, needed by openssl-3.4.1 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libcurses.so.9, needed by python27-2.7.18nb21 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libhdb.so.9, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libkrb5.so.20, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libpanel.so.3, needed by python27-2.7.18nb21 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libroken.so.12, needed by heimdal-7.8.0nb13 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libssl.so.15, needed by apache-2.4.65 is not present in this system.
/usr/lib/libterminfo.so.2, needed by bash-5.2.37 is not present in this system.

Does anyone out there have advice on how I will deal with this? I’d like to keep my PPC system running. If the 10.0 base has these files, I’ll be all set. If not, what’s a good plan? Will the packages get updated any time soon? Will I have to build from source?

I hate to whine to the list, but I’m stuck.
