kernel MCHK trap panics (was Any ideas?)

Hi,

As a followup to my posting about panics on a 6400-type machine with 
recent netbsd-5, I'll happily report that the same machine with the older 
kernel (netbsd-5 from July 2010) has been running with heavy use for two 
weeks without an issue.

I just tried netbsd-5 on a completely different PowerMac 7600 with a 700 
MHz G4 Sonnet accelerator and got another kernel MCHK trap panic on boot 
with that, too.

Does anyone have any clues about what changed in netbsd-5 which is causing 
these MCHK panics in otherwise good machines?
