Re: ksyms broken by multiboot in NetBSD 5?

Hi Klaus,

I tested on an i386 box running NetBSD 5.0_STABLE (only one NetBSD partition), and I obtained the same results as you did:

- with `boot netbsd', the root device is not asked by the kernel and
  /dev/ksyms works.

- with `multiboot netbsd', the first message shown by the kernel is:
[ Kernel symbol table invalid! ]
and later on the root device is asked by the kernel, and /dev/ksyms is
  not configured.

For ksyms, I suspect that the problem comes from the multiboot command in NetBSD's boot loader, as I have a working ksyms when booting with GRUB Legacy (booting with multiboot).
