I've yet to try the cobalt port, I have also dug out my Qube2 which
should have 256MB of RAM or whatever the maximum it was that it could
take.

Justin@ hinted that it may be a lack of memory issue and a potential
solution to try was posted on the VAX list for dealing with low memory
situations.

You can cross compile packages for NetBSD in pkgsrc, talk was given at
AsiaBSDcon.
