Try installing less packages? :) E.g. on my quite current krups (I
think from right after the new pkg tools hit src).

$ ls -ld /usr/pkg/pkgdb*
drwxr-xr-x  8 root  wheel  512 Dec 14 04:00 /usr/pkg/pkgdb
$ ls -l /usr/pkg/pkgdb
total 680
drwxr-xr-x  2 root  wheel     512 Dec 11 00:39 bash-5.0.18
