I'm a bit late to this conversation, but when I first installed
NetBSD on my RaspberryPi I experienced the same problem and had
to re-create a bunch of symlinks in the /dev directory. The non-
existent UID (611) is apparently the UID used by the NetBSD
auto-build process. It gets applied to various symlinks and
directories in the RaspberryPi disk images provided through the
releng auto-builds.
