I've made an updated patch at

which is enough to get me to boot into sysinst with the
BEAGLEBONE_INSTALL kernel.  sdmmc is hosed probably because of a
subtle timing issue: enabling SDMMC_DEBUG, or merely inserting some
carefully placed debugging messages to diagnose the problem, causes
sdmmc to work and give me an ld0 for the beaglebone's microSD card.
