I'm using the kernel that came with miniroot.  I'm about to try compiling
my own kernel.  Last night I downloaded NetBSD current sys.tar.gz.  
Assuming I downloaded the right package, is the current kernel likely to
work OK with the 1.4.1 system I already installed?

Unfortunately, Linux has no driver for the 53C770 chip, so I can't use it
to access the NetBSD partitions, or any drives connected to that bus for
that matter.
