wd1: drive supports PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 6 (Ultra/133)
wd1(ahcisata0:1:0): using PIO mode 4, DMA mode 2, Ultra-DMA mode 6
(Ultra/133) (using DMA)
The second line matches the first line, so it looks to me as though the
drive is attaching with maximum capability. Were you expecting a
different "supports" line?
The "supports" line is exactly as I expect it to be.
It the "(using DMA)" at the end of the "using" line that leaves me
a bit before it says using... DMA mode 2
so it couldn't be better...
Your statements, together with Manuel's explanation, make it clear how I
should interpret the boot-messages.
Thanks for clarifying. It's appreciated!
