Linux emulation broken on 5.1? (PR 36184 ?)

Dear all,

hope this is the right list to ask.

I'm running the central mailserver of our department using a NetBSD 5.1 machine
under Xen3 (Dom0 is NetBSD also):

NetBSD mail.physik.uni-wuppertal.de 5.1 NetBSD 5.1 (XEN3_DOMU) #0: Sat Nov 6
13:17:16 UTC 2010
builds%b6.netbsd.org@localhost:/home/builds/ab/netbsd-5-1-RELEASE/amd64/201011061943Z-obj/home/builds/ab/netbsd-5-1-RELEASE/src/sys/arch/amd64/compile/XEN3_DOMU
 amd64

I kept of course on the stable side of NetBSD.

For backup purposes, I would like to run a Linux binary (EMC^2 networker), but
when trying to get Linux emulation running, I couldn't get the simplest "ls"
running:

mail# pkg_info -a | grep suse
suse_base-10.0nb5 Linux compatibility package
suse_compat-10.0nb3 Linux compatibility package with old shared libraries
suse_openssl-10.0nb5 Linux compatibility package for OpenSSL

I found an old PR

http://www.NetBSD.org/cgi-bin/query-pr-single.pl?number=36184

which seems to address exactly this issue, but I'm unsure if that has been
pulled-up into the RELEASE.

So I would like to ask if I did anything wrong when trying to run Linux
binaries and if the PR was pulled-up and - if not - is there any way to get
things running while staying on the stable tree?

Thanks and best regards,

   Torsten
