To be clear, this is because of doctrine that pkgsrc is only expected
to work with releases/release branches and up-to-date current.  If it
works with today's current and not last week's, that's ok.

In general, if you're running current, you need to run current current.
(Well, you can do what you want, and then if it breaks you get to keep
both pieces.)
