Thanks for a very quick reply! This does indeed seem to work around the
problem reliably. (Processing upgrade as I write.)

Thanks also for the very appreciated service from you and SmartOS with
providing binary packages. You rock!

Can I just suggest that you mention this problem on the web pages at

https://pkgsrc.smartos.org/install-on-macos/

or thereabouts? I would assume that doing so could relieve you of more
questions along this line. (Or send me to RTFM for not seeing it. :-) )
