Depends on how pkgsrc integrates this. I would imagine mail/dovecot2
needs to be renamed to mail/dovecot23 and new mail/dovecot24 created
which conflicts with older package. You would need to test in chroot or
VM and then uninstall older package, as the paths would conflict.

I'm not a pkgsrc developer and have no commit rights, the question is
who is prepared to do this work? I created a local mail/dovecot24 which
seems to build on NetBSD. So anyone wants to test it and then import
into pkgsrc-current?
