The master site to fetch lang/mono is
https://download.mono-project.com/sources/mono/ but the archive of
the last stable release available on it is 6.12.0.199.tar.xz.

The last stable release available on GitHub is
https://github.com/mono/mono/archive/refs/tags/mono-6.12.0.206.tar.gz

The 6.12.0.200 release seems to fix a security issue:
https://www.mono-project.com/docs/about-mono/releases/6.12.0.200/

Why don't we use GitHub release repositories as master site for
lang/mono?

I noticed Makefile.in are not provided in GitHub archives.
and neither external tool directories.

Have you filed a bug with upstream?
No

Or do they document that they only have github releases, and you have > to autogen? The question is relevant. I think I have to investigate to
understand their policies and document lang/mono if relevant and necessary.
