Wow, that is crazy.  3623 MiB vs 849 MiB.  I wonder if there is some
huge build system bug or if this is really how it is.  It does not make
sense.

If real, then yes, I think it makes sense. to make this configurable.
Standard builds (used for official binary packages) should have all
languages because we don't know the language any user will want.  I
assume you mean an option to make it use one language and some variable
that's a BUILD DEF, or maybe just a variable, and making PLIST dynamic
somehow.  That seems like a reasonable thing to do, if someone wants to
do it.

I am not sure that others will see it that way though so contrary
opinions, if existing, should probably be surfaced before you do the
work.
