Hmmm so somehow I need to enforce that ctwm is built with the base
system compiler; how could I do that?

I tried

GCC_REQD= # empty; gcc12 is incompatible with ctfconvert

but then pkgsrc wanted to build gcc8. NetBSD 9 has gcc 7 which is
perfecty sufficient for ctwm.
