I feel guilty (after searching for the original PR):

As you can see it used to be a big issue and originally the full meaning
of "build without introspection support" was not clearly understood.

But after the toolchain issues have been fixed, the option (used as a
workaround for that bug) does not make sense any more.

Let's just drop the option (in docs) now and rip all support out whenever
one of the pkgs supporting is is touched. Or something like that.
