You can use curses alongside either terminfo or termcap, but not terminfo
and termcap.

I've been using cmake on Linux distros with a split curses/terminfo as
well for years, never had this problem.

Not saying you did, I was just pointing out how to handle the -ltinfo foo agnostically.
