Continuing problems with print/cups (not cups15)

I've just reinstalled again, updating cups from 2.0.3nb2 to 2.0.4, and the host machine is a NetBSD/amd64 running 7.99.20 from sources updated on 2015-08-06 at 16:52:51 UTC.

It seems that the various /usr/pkg/libexec/cups directories (especially ..../cgibin) are once again being created with mode 775, which prevents the web interface from accessing those pages. Manually updating the mode to 755 works as it did before. Seems like wiz's patch to fix this did not surive the update to 2.0.4 ...

Even after fixing the above, I cannot modify an existing printer nor define a new one. Whenever it tries to get the list of ppd files, the following error is logged in /var/log/cups/error-log

E [10/Aug/2015:11:55:50 +0800] [CGI] Unable to create service connection: No such file or directory
E [10/Aug/2015:11:55:50 +0800] [cups-deviced] PID 2239 (dnssd) stopped with status 1!

It's not at all clear to which "service" it is trying to connect, so I don't even know what to look for. I did verify that both cups-deviced and dnssd exist:

# find /usr/pkg -name cups-deviced
/usr/pkg/libexec/cups/daemon/cups-deviced
# find /usr/pkg -name dnssd
/usr/pkg/libexec/cups/backend/dnssd
#

Any additional clues would be greatly appreciated.
