Error building databases/rrdtool (graphics/cairo-related)

Hi all,

I'm trying to build databases/rrdtool from pkgsrc HEAD, but not having any
luck. The build fails because it can't find various symbols in a number of
cairo-related libraries. 

For example:
...
checking for cairo_font_options_create in -lcairo... no
checking for pkg-config... pkg-config
checking for cairo_font_options_create in -lcairo... no
...

These ultimately cause the build to fail. System is NetBSD 4.0/sparc64, all
rrdtool dependencies up-to-date as of this morning. I do see that no cairo
shared libaries have been built though:

Any thoughts? I have disabled X11 support in both pango and cairo (target
system is a server), but enabling it gives the same error.
