acroread7-7.0.9nb1 using linux emul broke

Anyone have any ideas? Where to start looking, etc...

I just followed the directions for installing the linux emulation in the Guide, and then followed that with an installation of acroread7. I get the following run time error, like I've got a bad library.

nv2292$ acroread
/usr/pkg/Acrobat7/Reader/intellinux/bin/acroread: symbol lookup error: /usr/X11R6/lib/libfreetype.so.9: undefined symbol: _ctype_
nv2292$

running netbsd 4.99.31 from current 10-06-2007, and I'm using all packages from the pkgsrc that came with current.
