thanks - I ran "BUILDING_MESA=true make" which "hides" the
'-DGLX_GLXEXT_LEGACY' and it compiled OK.

you mean 's/GLX_GLXEXT_LEGACY/GLX_GLXEXT_PROTOTYPES/' in MesaLib/buildlink3.mk ?
