 So I just tested again the wip package.
 
 If built without thread support (there is thread option this time), it
 builds fine;
 
 If built with thread support ecl_min (the bootstrap ecl) gets stuck in
 an endless loop before it can do any work.  I didn't look further but I
 ran ktruss on ecl_min without any other argument and saw it receiving
 SIGSEGV multiple times to then be stuck in an endless loop (which loop
 calls no syscalls).
